Corinth, New York
Corinth is a town in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The population was 6,531 at the 2010 census.[2] The town contains a village also named Corinth. The town is on the northeast border of the county, north of Saratoga Springs. The town is noted as "the snowshoe capital of the world".[4]
Around 1763, after the French and Indian War, Ebenezer Jessup and his brother Edward from Luzerne began lumbering operations in the town. They floated rafts of logs down the Hudson. Around 1790 Ambrose Clothier moved from Connecticut and built a cabin near Lake Bonita on Mount McGregor.[8] He had three sons and three daughters, and all his sons were noted fiddlers.
