Waverly is a city in Wright County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,357 at the 2010 census.[7]

The name of the original settlement was Waverly Mills,[1] given its name after a community in Waverly, New York,[8] the former home of one of the partners. It was constructed by a surveyor and his partners. They constructed a dam, a saw mill, and a grist mill in 1865 at the outlet of Little Waverly Lake.[1] Waverly Mills managed to survive a rough start with a bank panic, financial crash, and subsequent grasshopper infestations.
