Guinda is a census-designated place[3] in Yolo County, California. It is located in the Capay Valley, in the northwestern portion of the county, 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Esparto.[4] Guinda's ZIP Code is 95637 and its area code 530. It lies at an elevation of 361 feet (110 m).

The town was named by Southern Pacific Railroad officials after a cherry tree at the site. Guinda means (Morello) cherry in Spanish.[4][5] A post office was opened in the town in 1889.[4]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP covers an area of 2.9 square miles (7.5 km²), all of it land.
